PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool capable of detecting and identifying food poisoning bacteria according to simple operations by arranging a microbial collecting part having a specific structure in a test tubelike hollow container. SOLUTION: This tool for testing food poisoning is obtained by using a lid unit 2 of a hollow cylindrical container 1 having an opening at one end as a microbial collecting part and the tip of a rodlike member (6a) as a microbial collecting end (6b) and arranging a baglike member 4 enclosing a culture medium 3 suitable for culturing food poisoning bacteria in the upper part of the lid unit 2. A pH indicator for detecting a change in pH due to the microbial propagation is contained in the culture medium 3, which is dropped into the interior of the container by breaking the baglike member 4.
