The inner lining is provided with a multiplicity of stacked, elastic, sheet-shaped inner layers (6,8,10) incorporating at least one removable inner layer (10) which is fixed to the inner layer (8) beneath it. This underneath inner layer is enclosed between the removable inner layer and the outer helmet. The outermost helmet inner layer (10) with the aid of adhesive (12), which extends close to its longitudinal edge, is fixed to the helmet inner layer (8) beneath it. This latter inner layer is also formed as a removable inner layer and is adhered to the inner layer (6) beneath it. This latter inner layer is connected with the inside of the rigid outer helmet (2).
