PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-melt ink jet printer capable of obtaining a recording image having high image quality corresponding to recording density and good in fixing properties even if hot-melt ink is used to set recording density to 600×600dpi or more. SOLUTION: In a hot-melt ink jet printer bonding ink droplets of hot-melt ink to a recording medium to perform recording, an ink jet head capable of injecting ink droplets to the recording medium so that the adhesion amt. of ink per a unit area is received within a range of 5.4×10<6> -1.7×10<7> pl/inch<2> at a time of solid recording under conditions such that recording density is 600×600dpi or more and the recording densities in the longitudinal and lateral directions on the recording medium are almost same and a pressure means pressing the recording medium after recording are together provided.
