Device for disposing of (deactivating) nests on power- line pylons and other places where it is desired to prevent the building of nests

The device is basically composed of a shaft which is secured by one end to the nest-building site and the upper end is fitted with a bearing which, on one side, fits together with the shaft and on the outside fits together with a housing. An X-shaped configuration of blades is welded to the upper part of the housing. The purpose of the bearing is to allow the rotation of the assembly formed by the housing and the blades with respect to the shaft. The blades are made from stainless steel, the rest of the components being made from steel. The upper part of the housing is filled with thick grease for lubricating the bearing. The repelling (driving-off) effect is achieved by the rotational movement of the blades combined with flashes of sunlight thereon.
