Process for obtaining substrates for crops and their applications Comprises: (a) mixing black peat with wood fibre in proportions from 1 to 99% by weight in a mixer, (b) shredding and screening the mixture obtained in stage (a) using a screen or drum to a particle size between 1 mm and 20 mm, (c) optionally adding a product selected from fertilizers, plant promoters, bacteria and fungi, trace elements, binding agents, agglomerating agents and synthetic and biological adhesives to the resulting mixture, (d) if desired subjecting the product so obtained to mechanical and/or heat treatment. Application in the manufacture of flowerpots and containers, plugs, boards, organic mulches and for the stabilization of slopes and revegetation and other environmental or public works applications.
