The sealing joint for a vehicle sliding window (C) has a first element (1) having a U section internal part (10) which fastens on the bodywork rabbet (F). An external part (11) seals the outside of the window. A second element (2) has a sliding sealing lip (20) in contact with the internal surface of the window and a covering lip (22) for the compartment rabbet (F'). The first element is fixed to, but can be removed from, the second element on the U section internal part. The removable fixings are constituted by a groove (12) on the first element internal part into which is locked a first hook (21) in the base of the sealing lip. A tongue (14) is fixed to the internal branch (10a) of the U shaped internal part, on the face opposite the rabbet, onto which is locked a second hook (24) carried by the compartment rabbet covering lip.
