The first hydrostatic unit (A) has an adjustable volume. The second hydrostatic unit (B) has a constant or variable volume. The torque division appliance in which the driving power is divided into a hydraulic and a mechanical branch is reunited in front of the gear exit. The torque division appliance has a differential gear especially for driving a front-driven vehicle axially staggered in position in relation to the drive shaft (16) and driven by intermediate links (10-14). The hydrostatic gear (36), compound planetary gears (37) and couplings (44) are coaxial.
