Security seal for steel canister, with closure cap with flanged rim

The security seal is in the form of a ring (2) of at least two segments (4a,b) clamped between the end surface (20) of the closure cap (18) and the flanged rim (22) of the neck of the canister. The two segments are each joined by connecting elements (6) whose thickness corresponds at most to the thickness of the ring segments. The connecting elements protrude from the plane of the ring on at least one connecting point (8) and are joined by a nominal break point (10) to the adjacent ring segment. The nominal break point is destroyed when the closure cap is put on. The ring disintegrates into its segments when the cap is removed.
