A water retentive net having water retentivity which is not found in conventional nets, and preferably usable for planting of a slope in a dry district or tree-planting of a desert and the like. A water absorptive resin or a water retention agent (10) containing the water absorptive resin as its main component is applied by means of a coating means at least to one side of a net fabricated by weft knitting, or a three-dimensionally shaped air- and water-permeable net of which cord portions (1) forming net meshes (2) include voids, for example, a three-dimensional structure net fabricated by warp-knitting, whereby the water retentive net has in combination water permeability imparted by a three-dimensional structure and water retentivity imparted by the water retention agent, and exhibits a favorable moisture makeup function. |
