The steering wheel lock comprises a housing (2) with assembly opening protected by cover plate (19). The cover plate has an angled end (20) having a recess extending towards the longitudinal axis of the locking cylinder. The second end of a web-shaped security plate (8) projects through this recess and is supported in a guide groove of the housing through its area located between angled end and end of housing on locking cylinder side. The security plate and cover plate are set relative to each other in the recess are so that the security plate cannot be removed from the recess when the cover plate is fixed on the housing.
