A lock cylinder for an electronically coded key has a reader head in the cylinder housing which corresponds to the coding of the key inserted into the cylinder core. The connecting cable for the head has screening and is guided along a groove in the housing open to the outside. The cable (3) goes under a bridge (4) through to the outside and is fixed axially against the housing by an indentation in the bridge, which penetrates the sleeve as far as the screen so that the housing and the screen are electrically connected and earthed. The cable is guided out of the housing in its lower region.
