A polycarbonate resin having crosslinking groups selected from among the functional groups mentioned above in the side chains, ends or main chain; a crosslinked polycarbonate resin made from the above resin through crosslinking; and an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing such a resin in its photosensitive layer. In said groups, h is an integer of 0 to 4; R<7> and R<8> are each hydrogen, alkyl or aryl; X', Y' and Z' are each a single bond, -O-, -CO-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2- or alkylene; R<20> and R<21> are each hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; R<19> and R<22> are each hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; R<23> and R<24> are each hydrogen, halogeno, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy or aryl; the sum of p and q is an integer of 1 or above; R<25>, R<26>, R<27> and R<28> are each hydrogen, halogeno, alkyl, alkyloxy, alkylthio, cycloalkyl, aryl, aryloxy or arylthio; n1 and n2 are each 0 or 1; R is halogeno, alkyl, alkyloxy, alkylthio, cycloalkyl, aryl, aryloxy or arylthio; and n3 and n4 are each an integer of 0 to 4.
