Energy-saving apparatus for exchanging heat, in a flow process, comprising a plurality of cooperating assemblies each comprising a central tube (202), containing one or more static mixing elements (203), which comprise blade-shaped components which slope in the flow direction and fit the inner wall of a central tube (202), an annular space (224) surrounding said tube and a shell tube (204) which delimits the annular surrounding space (224), the assemblies communicating with one another in such a way that both the annular spaces and the central tubes form continuous compartments. The invention further comprises a water-saving evaporator in which an underpressure is generated by a water-jet ejector, the warm water vapour being absorbed in the water jet and said warmed water being able to circulate and to be supplied to other processing systems. The evaporator according to the invention may likewise be combined with the above-described energy-saving apparatus.
