Peeling machine for fruit and vegetables with cooled peeling tool

Fruit and various types of vegetables, particularly cooked potatoes, are peeled in a machine with a hollow drive shaft (1), supplying coolant to the interior of a peeling tool (3), comprising two truncated cones joined at their smaller diameters, and the interior of the tool is connected to the interior of the shaft by passages (24,25) in the shaft jacket. Covers (6,7) seal off the interior of the tool and rotate with the shaft. Preferably the covers fill up most of the interior of the tool and a coolant chamber is formed between the outside of the covers and the inside wall of the tool.
