Spin-drawing high shrinkage synthetic yarn using very hot heating surfaces

Synthetic yarn (1) is spun, drawn and relaxed by taking it without contact near an extended heating surface which is above the melting point of the yarn material. The yarn is given a preliminary spin finish suitable for the heat treatment in a preliminary applicator (57) and a final finish in an applicator (59) after the heat treatment.
