A pump shaft (10) of a converter (2) fits by a tappet (11) into a cam (8) of the radial piston pump. The cam passes between axial discs (27,28). The cam is produced by extrusion from sound-absorbent material, e.g. sintered aluminium. The cam is balanced by recesses. The cam is supported on one side of the tappet against a further axial disc (30) joined to a bushing (30a). The pump shaft of the converter consists of oscillation-damping material, e.g. grey cast iron or sintered aluminium.
