Refractory lining of an arc furnace includes a cooling plate of copper or low-alloy copper alloy and is manufactured from a forged or rolled starting block with blind bores (3) forming vertical cooling channels. Bores are in the form of double channels (6) in which the blind bores are connected by horizontal blind bores (5). The double channels are connected externally by pipe bends (4) and openings (7) are formed in the cooling plate and double channels with pipe stubs (2) are positioned about them.
