The brace includes a frame containing a thermoplastic material. A harness maybe fixed to the frame, the harness being retained adjacent a user's leg during use. The frame may include a tibial restricting portion running parallel to the medial shaft of the user's tibia, to prevent movement or rotation thereof. The brace is formed from a brace core, a mixture of a thermoplastic material and a blowing agent, which is applied to a composite. The core and composite are heated in a mould to expand the blowing agent and force the composite material against the interior of the mould. After cooling the brace is reheated to allow reshaping for a custom fit. A method of riveting a thermoplastic frame to a resilient material and a harness system for a leg brace are also disclosed.
