The method is for operation the ablation device which has an HF generator (11), whose output pole (16) is connectible to a roller electrode (13) with round surface, which is rotation symmetrical to the roller axis. The electrode can be rolled over the treated patient tissue (12). The other output pole (17) is connectible to a neutral electrode (19) coupled to the patient (18). Normally the HF voltage is adjusted to cause coagulation along the contact surface, between the tissue and roller electrode surface (14). Starting from the normal voltage, the HF voltage is increased periodically in pulses, and for such a time period, to a value that generates statically distributed microlight-arcs over the contact surface, for local tissue evaporation.
