In a foldable seat, the back is moved vertically in conjunction with a sprung seating area as this responds to the weight of an occupant. As shown, the back is foldable about and supported by pivots 25. The moving upholstery supporting panel which is positioned vertically by links 58, is slidably carried on rods 33 mounted on arms 24. The rods 33 may be mounted in soft rubber (Fig. 6, not shown) or rubber connections may be provided between bushes 34 sliding on the rods and the moving upholstery supporting panel (Figs. 5, 12, not shown). |
