The tubular turbine-generator has a stator assembly that has a series of axial rings of plate segments Ä5Ü and these are formed with radial slots through which cooling water flows. Slots Ä9Ü are provided for the windings. The segments are held together by axial tie rods and the laminated stator is located within a barrel casing Ä1Ü with an annular spacing Ä21Ü support between the stator and the casing is provided by a number of V-shaped spacer elements Ä14Ü with an intermediate plate Ä15Ü fixed to the stator by strips.
