PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate the direction adjustment of a camera by an operator by obtaining the moving direction and the moving quantity of the camera from the average value of effective vectors and a distance from the camera to a subject thereby controlling the camera. SOLUTION: A motion vector calculating means 1 calculates a motion vector by taking difference between the frames of picture signals obtained from the camera 7. A picture movement vector calculation means 2 calculates the average value of the effective vectors contributing the moving quantity and the moving direction of a moved picture part among the motion vectors obtained by the motion vector calculating means 1. A storage means 5 stores the distance from the camera 7 to the subject. A camera movemennt vector calculation means 3 calculates the movement vector showing moving quantity and the moving direction of the camera 7 from the average value of the effective vectors and the distance from the camera 7 to the subject. A camera control means 4 controls the direction of the camera based on the movement vector calculated by the camera movement vector calculation means 3. |
