PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an element which is improved in optical characteristics, such light scattering characteristic, and is structurally excellent as well by consisting the element of a molding of a compsn. composed of a crosslinked high-polymer liquid crystals and a resin. SOLUTION: This optical element consists of the molding of the compsn. composed of the crosslinked high-polymer liquid crystals and the resin. Namely, the surface of a base material 1 is provided with a high-polymer liquid crystal compsn. layer 2. If the base material 1 is a sheet-like base material, films of resins as represented by a polyester resin, polyether resin, polyurethane resin, polyamide resin, acrylic resin, polyimide resin, polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, polycarbonate resin, polystyrene resin and 'Teflon (R)' resin, various kinds of metallic films, paper, coated paper, etc., are preferably used. The high-polymer liquid crystals are usually produced by polymerizing a polymerizable mesogene compd. or adding the addition reactive mesogene compd. to an addition reactive (pre) polymer, such as polysilicone hydride. |
