摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transfer efficiency by distributing functions of data transfer control to a video server and plural MPEG boards so as to relieve a load of the video server controller thereby allowing each MPEG board to read data directly from a disk. SOLUTION: A video server controller 102 receives and decodes a control command, decides an MPEG board 103a in charge and writes a video stream decode start command to a video stream output command storage area in a RAM 105. Then a CPU 106b references an address and a data length and reads corresponding video data in a disk system 104. The MPEG board 103a provides an output of a video stream subject to MPEG decoding by an MPEG decoding circuit 107 to a corresponding channel. Thus, functions of data transfer control are distributed to the video server controller and the plural MPEG boards in this way, then the load of the video server controller is relieved and its performance is improved. Furthermore, the transfer efficiency of data is improved by allowing each MPEG board to read data directly form a disk.
