<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a volume of a surplus sludge generated attending a biological treatment of an org. sewage. SOLUTION: (1) In a treating method reducing the volume of a sludge, a metabolism of an organism is inactivated by treating the sludge under a condition of >=pH10.5 and the sludge is solubilized while suppressing a formation of an org. acid. (2) In the alkali solubilizing treatment, the second alkali treating stage for introducing the generated treated sludge is preferably provided, and a residence time is set so that pH is within a range of 9.0-10.0.</p> |
