PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device whose length does not contract from its both ends along its lengthwise directional central axis during its expansion. SOLUTION: In a device 10 to introduce a stent 14 into an in vivo desired position of a patient, the device is provided with an external member 11 which houses the self-expansible stent 14 in a contracted condition in it and has a passage 12 extending in the axial direction and parts 19 and 31 which are arranged at least in a part in the passage 12 and engage with the self-expansible stent 14, and is provided with an internal member 15 to take the self-expansible stent 14 in a contracted condition in and out of the passage 12 and a means 17 to cause a relative movement of the internal member 15 and the external member 11.
