SUBSTANCE: present invention describes oil soluble ethylene and 1-butene based copolymers having average molecular weight of 1500-7500 containing at the ends of at least 30 % chains ethyl vinylidene groups containing not more than 50 wt % ethylene units which form solutions in mineral oil and which contain no aggregated particles as shown by light scattering method. Additives to lubricating oils, more particularly dispersants of copolymerization have improved characteristics (e.g. better dispersion power and lower flow temperatures) in lubricating oil compositions. EFFECT: improved properties.
