PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the cylinders for moving and clamping molds and contrive to simplify a plastic molding machine and to reduce the energy necessary for molding. SOLUTION: This mold clamping device is equipped with mold moving cylinders 8 for moving a pair of split molds 1 from their mold opening position to their mold clamping positions and mold clamping cylinders 9 for completing the clamping of the molds. Further, this device is also equipped with fixing rods 10, with which a pair of mold clamping platens 6 and 6 are connected to each other at the pre-mold clamping position, which is near the mold clamping finishing position and to which a pair of the split molds are moved by actuating the mold moving cylinders 8, so as to check the mold clamping platens from moving to mold opening direction. By actuating the mold clamping cylinders at the pre-mold clamping position, the mold clamping of the split molds 1 is completed. |
