PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and facilitate the retrieval of houses and designation of desired location by recognizing shapes of houses. SOLUTION: House shape data displaying land shapes partitioned in a plane are stored in an information storage device 37. A desired land can be designated from pictures displayed on a display 33 by using a cursor. In this case, a coordinate of the center of the cursor is obtained and house shape data included in a range of the house shape including the center of the cursor are retrieved. When the center of the cursor enter the range of the house shape, since the place indicated by the house shape is to be designated, the operation is easier compared with it to look for a coordinate and put the center of the cursor on it.
