FIELD: radar systems. SUBSTANCE: method is based on measurement of characteristics of signals reflected from target and on their comparison with standard ones. During operation of radar with known effective scattering area of high-altitude target level of signal received from it is found as well as corresponding range to target, present values of level of signal received from target, range to it and target aspect are measured during tracking of real high- or low-altitude target, present values of generalized characteristic of signals received from target are calculated as, signal A(t) is filtered linearly with extraction of signal Af(t), extreme maximum and minimum values of Af(t) are determined, factor of target aspect is found and effective scattering area of target is calculated by formula G=G*K(L)*(A), where A=0.5(A+ A); Go is known effective scattering area of target during a priori measurements; Kp(L) is coefficient of target aspect; L is target aspect; R is present value of range to target during tracking; Ro is value of range to target during a priori measurements; Pc is present value of level of signal received from target during tracking; Po is value of level of signal received from target during a priori measurements. EFFECT: increased authenticity of method. |
