PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always keep the consumption quantity of ink for recording an image constant even if the kind of a recording medium is different by providing a drive signal selection means keeping the emitting amt. of ink droplets almost constant and capable of selecting the waveform shape of a drive signal making an ink emitting speed variable corresponding to the kind of a recording medium. SOLUTION: A carriage 1 is supported by a guide member 2 and connected to a pulse motor 23 through a timing belt 3 and reciprocally moved in parallel to a heat conductive member 5 also used as a platen. Further, the carriage 1 is loaded with a recording head and further loaded with an ink cartridge 9 in a freely detachable manner. In this constitution, by changing a pulse width signal applying the drive voltage signal corresponding to the kind of a recording medium 6, an ink emitting speed is made high in the recording medium 6 hard to spread ink droplets and made low in the recording medium 6 easy to spread ink droplets without changing the amt. of ink droplets. By this constitution, proper recording corresponding to the kind of the recording medium 6 is performed. |
