PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiuse magnetostrictive apparatus which can be used for an accelerometer which can detect a multidirectional force, a vibration sensor, a torque sensor, an actuator, a motor and the like. SOLUTION: In an apparatus, coils 110, 210, 310 at magnetostrictive elements 10, 20, 30 are combined with magnetostrictive members 120, 220, 320 so as to generate a voltage according to the expansion and contraction of the magnetostrictive members 120, 220, 320. The magnetostrictive members 120, 220, 320 are restrained at both ends. Magnetic circuit elements 130, 230, 330 apply a bias magnetic field to the magnetostrictive members 120, 220, 320. The respective magnetostrictive elements 10, 20, 30 are arranged so as to agree with the direction of the Z-axis which is taken in the direction of both ends of the magnetostrictive members 120, 220, 320, and they are arranged so as to keep a relationship by which a plane S obtained by connecting respective arrangement points P1 to P3 becomes a polygonal plane corresponding to the number of elements on a plane formed by the X-axis and the Y-axis which are at right angles to the direction of the Z-axis. |
