There is disclosed (-)-cis-1,5-benzothiazepine represented by the following formula or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 represents lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R2 represents hydrogen or lower alkanoyl; R3 represents lower alkyl; R4 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R5 represent hydrogen, lower alkyl or hydroxy lower alkyl; and A represents lower alkylene, which is a prophylactic and/or curing agent of Raynaud's disease and chronic arterial obstruction.
