PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb volume change of a thermal storage material due to deformation of a deformation section, make it unnecessary to keep vacant space within a shell to raise thermal storage density. SOLUTION: This thermal storage body comprises a shell 2 having an approximately spherical shape and thermal storage material 3 packed in a space within the shell 2 with substantially no remaining vacancy, which shell can implement phase transitions of fusion and solidification, and the shell 2 comprises an approximately spherically-shaped substrate shell section 4 and a deformation section 5 projected or recessed from the substrate shell section 4 and provided in order to absorb volume change of the heat storage material 3 due to phase transition. |
