METHOD OF HIGH-RATE COOLING OF ARTICLES AND DEVICE FOR ITS EMBODIMENT

FIELD: application of metal coatings on big complex-shaped pieces. SUBSTANCE: rapid cooling of pieces includes blowing through chamber with pieces of cold air stream with velocity more than 8 m/sec, whereto a cold mist is fed and cooling is achieved with recycling cooling flow. Water used for mist formation is cooled to 10-15 C. Arrangement for rapidly cooling pieces contains a chamber with caps and system of forcing and recycling air using a fan and provided with mist-forming water-air mixers. Method may be employed for cooling pieces and metal stock after thermal treatment in metallurgy and machine building. EFFECT: improved quality of pieces due to uniform treatment with high velocity of cooling.
