PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new serine protease derived from a human colonic cancer cell and available from genetic engineering, having a specific amino acid sequence capable of establishing a screening system of an inhibitor specific to the enzyme and utilizing for screening, etc., of treating agents for various kinds of diseases. SOLUTION: This new serine protease or its partially peptide contains an amino acid sequence (leucine of amino acid No. 1 may be lost) of amino acid Nos. 1-223 represented by formula 1, an amino acid sequence of an amino acid Nos. 1-233 represented by formula II and an amino acid sequence of amino acid Nos. 1-241 represented by formula III, and can be utilized for screening, etc., of a treating agent for various kinds of diseases by screening system of an inhibitor which is specific to the enzyme. The serine protease is obtained by extracting mRNA from COLO 201 cell derived from human colonic cancer and preparing cDNA library using the mRNA and screening cDNA library, integrating the resultant serine protease gene into a vector and expressing the gene in a host cell. |
