<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of difficulty in sharing light-emitting elements due to fixed time-shared driving because of a self-scanning circuit within a light-emitting element array. SOLUTION: In a recording element array having a row of multiple light- emitting thyristors SR1 to SR69 connected vertically and a scanning circuit intended for time-shared driving selectively the light-emitting thyristors, and terminals 100 to 103 are provided to ensure that a row of multiple light-emitting thyristors connected vertically and vertical connection within a scanning circuit are disconnected at a prescribed halfway position, light-emitting thyristors and the scanning circuit whose vertical connection is divided, may be connected externally.</p> |
