PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the effect of the ruggedness of a substrate for an electrically conductive substrate and the effect of a crystallized body on the substrate and to obtain a photoreceptor not causing the rise of residual potential and excellent in repetition stability and environmental characteristics. SOLUTION: In this photoreceptor with a photosensitive layer 3 on the electrically conductive substrate 1 with a middle layer 2 in-between, the middle layer 2 contains double-layer coated titanium oxide particles dispersed in alkoxymethylated nylon and a nylon copolymer by 30-75% of the total amt. of the layer 2. The coated titanium oxide particles are formed by coating them with alumina after coating them with silica and the weight ratio of silica : alumina is 3:7 to 8:2. The surface roughness Rz of the middle layer is 0.5-2.0μm and the thickness is 0.5-10μm.
