<p>The mobile digger is for lifting root crops, having one or more pairs of digger prongs extracting the crop from the ground. Each hoeing prong (5, 6) oscillates in the travel direction of the chassis (1) under the action of a drive mechanism, which can be arranged to move them in opposite directions. The prongs can be mounted by means of rocking beams (7) on an auxiliary frame (2) and driven by a crankshaft and connecting rods, the throws of the crankshaft being 180 deg. apart. The auxiliary frame can pivot on a spindle clear of the digger prongs, the crankshaft being driven by belt or chain from a pulley or sprocket on the main chassis.</p> |
