摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce excellent dots and line images together with a photographic image having gradation by performing control in the sequence of maximum density maintenance control, line width control and gradation correction control. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, not only the line width is detected but also maximum density correction and gradation correction are performed. A sensor WS for line width detection, a density detecting sensor DS1 for maximum density correction, and a density detecting sensor DS2 for gradation correction are arranged to be opposed to the peripheral surface of a photoreceptor drum 31 between a developing device 33 and a transfer device 34 and between a separating device 35 and a cleaning device 39. The sensor Ws is combined with the sensors DS1 and DS2 and uses a specified algorithm so as to perform image control in order of the maximum density maintenance control, the line width control and the gradation correction control, whereby the excellent images, such as characters, the dots and the line images, are always concurrently reproduced together with the photographic image even when an environmental condition is changed or even after copying many sheets is performed.
