PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of uniting a collector plate and a solid electrode in such a manner that contact resistance becomes low without causing separation or cracking. SOLUTION: A method of uniting a collector plate and a solid electrode composed of carbonized PVDC resin (polyvinylidene chloride), used in an electric double layer capacitor, comprises the steps of coating the collector plate with PVDC resin dissolved in a solvent, placing the electrode on the PVDC-coated collector plate, pressing the electrode against the collector plate, and heating them to a temperature below carbonization temperature to join the two parts. The solvent for the above step can be either tetrahydrofuran or methyl ethyl ketone. |
