PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reading head for detecting a diffused-light reflected on a reagent test pad reacted on an object to be analyzed, e.g. glucose in blood, in which detecting error is reduced by reducing regular reflection of light impinging on a photosensor. SOLUTION: The reading head 10 for detecting a diffused-light reflected on a reagent test pad 14 reacted on an object to be analyzed comprises means 12 for illuminating the reagent test pad 14 supported at an angleαof 3-8 deg. with respect to the a face 20 vertical to the optical axis illuminating means 12. For example, the supporting face is inclining by 5 deg. against a face vertical to the axis of parallel beam and a sensor. Inclination of only 5 deg. reduces regular reflection onto the sensor to about one third and increases S/N ratio to the sensor drastically.
