METHOD FOR CALIBRATING OBSERVER FOLLOW-UP DISPLAY AND OBSERVER FOLLOW-UP DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display calibrating method accurately following up an observer without using the mathematical model of a display. SOLUTION: The calibrating method is provided for the observer follow-up display of an automatic stereoscopic 3D type, for example. This display forms operational observing area and is provided with follow-up systems 11 and 12 for following the observer 10 and a controller 16 for controlling an observing zone corresponding to the follow-up systems 11 and 12. The observing zone guides light to plural areas in order by being operated. Next the observer 10 moves to an optimal position for observing the display. The follow-up systems 11 and 12 decides the optimal position concerning the direction of each observing zone, and the direction and the position are stored by relating to each other so as to form mapping 17 in the controller 16 for controlling the observing zone corresponding to the follow-up systems 11 and 12 while normally using the display.
