摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain accurate speed information by updating a coefficient value by using the value obtained by accumulating the value for deciding the degree of updating or the correlation value of the speed. SOLUTION: A pulse signal from a pulse generator 32 is counted by a pulse counter 22 to detect a traveling speed. The counted data is supplied to a position measuring calculator 23 for an automatic navigation, and a vehicle speed coefficient value stored in a predetermined memory in the calculator 23 is multiplied to obtain the speed. The prepared vehicle speed coefficient value is sequentially corrected by a coefficient updating calculator in the calculator 23. The value Kp for deciding the updating strength is calculated by Kp=(1/Cd1 )×Velocity +C2 , where the Velocity is the vehicle speed being correct at the time point, and C1 , C2 are predetermined constants. The calculator 23 corrects the vehicle speed coefficient value by a predetermined formula using the value Kp, and calculates the speed. The updating by traveling the automobile is sequentially conducted and hence it gradually becomes accurate speed coefficient value.
