PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate an amount of consumed toner in real time. SOLUTION: The CPU 21 of an engine drive part estimates an amount of toner which is used for an image being printed presently, by reading an A/D converter 24 every set timing, thereby finding the total of the video signal active times of the presently-printed image obtained every set timing. Also, charges accumulated in a capacitor means 6 are discharged by turning on a discharge means 7 with the timing of the finish of the reading of the A/D converter 24 by the CPU 21, or arbitrary timing, or particular timing provided for each line in the direction of main scanning. |
