PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable time setting in a second unit by setting time data in a clock circuit at a point of time of change of time data read out in a designated period. SOLUTION: In a time setting device incorporated in a VTR, a television radio caught by an antenna 1 is received and selected by a tuner 2. The output is sent to an EDS (data service) processing circuit 4, and the circuit selects only EDS signal to be passed and output to a VTR control part 8 and a time data detecting circuit 6. The circuit 6 detects the time data which the EDS signal includes and stores the same. The time data is read out in a designated period by the control part 8 to detect a point of time when the time data changes. The time data stored by the circuit 6 at the point of time of detection is compared with the time data of a clock circuit 9, and if the result shows that it gains one minute, the circuit 9 is set to 00 second of the time shown by the time data of the circuit 9. If it loses, the time data where the value of second of the time data stored by the circuit 6 is 00 second is set in the circuit 9. Accordingly, it is possible to set the time in second unit. |
