PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display and input device for equipment having a plurality of different functions. SOLUTION: The display screen 11 of the display and input device including a touch sensitive film 10 is held as a desk pad as part of a touch area and then displays a touch area label 18 which should automatically and dynamically be altered and output information. Each label set is limited by a different physical display surface formed of plural movable arrayed surface parts. A link mechanism transduces the operation of a manual actuator 19 into the movement of the surface parts, and the surface parts of the different surfaces are mutually arrayed at respective previously limited positions of an actuator 19 and face the touch sensitive film on the front sides of the surface parts of other surfaces, thereby constituting mechanically a selected display touch area.
