The procedure consists of first blackening the resin or compound by heating it to between 180 and 280 deg C, depending on the nature of the resin/compound. Next it is cooled to about -100 deg C, e.g. by immersing it for a few seconds in liquid nitrogen, and finally exposed to a laser beam which separates the metal and resin or compound by cracking.
