PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly conduct a charging process in the case of supplying the information service for which a charge is required. SOLUTION: Judgement is made on whether the information is a service with charge or not (SP1). If the answer is 'YES', it is judged whether an authorized card is used or not (SP2). If the authorized card is used, the clearing-off is made against the card. If the card is not used, it is judged whether the cash, which is deposited into a cash receiving device, is sufficient or not (SP3). If the cash is sufficient, the service is immediately provided. If the cash is insufficient, a notice is displayed to explain the situation (SP4), for example, saying 'Please deposit additional xxx yen'. If the user deposits the additional cash required (SP5), the charged service is displayed (SP6). On the other hand, if the user pushes cancel key after seeing the notice or no additional cash is deposited to cover the total charge within a prescribed period, the charged service operation is discontinued (SP7) and it returns to a higher order menu display. |
