PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease contamination of a photoreceptor due to the residual silicone oil even when a developing roll at least the surface part of which consists of a silicone rubber is used. SOLUTION: This method is such a nonmagnetic one-component developing method that a developing device equipped with a developing roll at least the surface part of which consists of a silicone rubber and with a blade to control the toner layer on the developing roll to a specified thickness and to give charges to the roll is used and that a toner image is formed by bringing the developing roll into contact with a photoreceptor. In this method, such a nonmagnetic one-component toner is used that is prepared by externally adding inorg. fine particles subjected to hydrophobic treatment with a silicone oil to the surface of the toner particles.
